Rico Lascano
"A Filipino artist who has been quietly but steadfastly shoring up a well deserve recognition, Lascano has always been drawn to Oriental themes. Previous bodies of work such as The Pondering and The Stream of Consciousness series are all chromatic works all alluding to the stillness of water, intuiting silence by the merest whisper of brushstroke. When seen against the brutishness of so much agitated gestural abstraction, Lascano's works are an oasis to the spirit...a relief from the hectic violation of space"
